Master Shelter Builder

Chief Goat Herder
We are often told that we are living other people's dream and this is such a great reminder that we are living a lifestyle we didn't literally dream of. It all started with a goat.
In 2017 we left Point Pleasant for the lure of country life. Jim grew up in Holmdel, NJ when it was very rural, and I (Amy) grew up in a small town in Connecticut surrounded by woods and water. After a vacation someplace we decided we wanted to live in an area that felt like that vacation. So we opted for our 3.5 acres in what felt like the middle of nowhere when we found it.
It's not really, but after living at the shore this felt like the wild west. A few months after moving in, I saw a notice for a bottle baby goat and thought, sure, why not? Fast forward and today with have 14 goats, a deaf llama, two mini highland cows, 14 chickens, 2 intentional barn cats, and 2 dogs as well as my elderly mom and her 2 dogs. To say we live in chaos and nonstop work is an understatement!
We previously owned a construction company which we sold a few years ago. Today Jim still works in construction sales in the area. I am a former accountant turned caregiver - having cared for 5 elderly relatives and now operate Honoring Grace Caregiver Support - providing practical and grief support to those caring for their elderly parents while trying to live their own lives. The link is in the menu above for Eldercare Support. I am currently working towards my Certified Senior Advisor credential and am also in Mindfulness & Grief coaching program.
