Hi, Amy here!  I've cared for 5 family members through the end of life and my mom currently lives with us. What I've learned, and am now studying in grad school, is how much of our discontentment in this season of life is grief.  Grief for our parent who is still alive, but not the same person; grief for our lives that we are missing out on; grief from giving up careers or social lives to care for our parents.
